About Targa

Our business name is from the Old Norse word targa from which the word targe derives. The Viking targa shield was adapted by the Scottish Highlander, whose targe provided the main means of defence in battle from the early 17th century until the Battle of Culloden in 1746.

After the defeat of the Jacobites at Culloden, the carrying of the targe was banned, and many were destroyed, but those that remain are decorated with intricate patterns, indicating that they would have originally belonged to important people.

Targa Digital is based in Strathspey in the Scottish Highlands, not far from Culloden.

In a digital world where more and more of our lives are conducted online, we face constant dangers ranging from email and mobile phone scams to sophisticated malware and cyber attacks, on personal devices and home and business WiFi networks. At Targa Digital, we aim to provide you with effective tools to defend yourself.
